First-time exhibitors from Europe, Asia and the Americas find the Gulf straightforward once a few local practices are clear. This guide covers the questions we are asked most.
Stand or booth?
Organisers and contractors in the Gulf say stand; your global guidelines may say booth. They mean the same thing.
Choosing a local contractor
A local contractor handles organiser approvals, production, installation and show support, and knows the venue rules. You review designs and sign off remotely.
Approvals and deadlines
Organisers publish deadlines for stand drawings, contractor registration and services. Missing them costs money and options, so appoint your contractor as soon as your space is confirmed.
Language and content
English is the working language of most trade shows. Arabic content is expected on government-facing stands and increasingly valued in Saudi Arabia.
Hospitality and meetings
Business in the region is relationship-led. Meeting space, refreshments and a comfortable place to sit are not extras; they are where deals progress.
Payments and contracts
Expect a deposit on order, with the balance before the show or on handover, and ask for an itemised quotation that states what the organiser bills separately.
